ANGLE Technology Group Launches U.S. Ventures with Appointment of Managing Director

- Early-stage technology veteran Robert Kornblum will lead international technology commercialization firm's U.S. Ventures -

Vienna, Virginia - January 18, 2005 — ANGLE Technology Group (LSE: AGL), an international technology commercialization firm, today announced the launch of its Ventures business in the United States with the appointment of industry veteran Robert Kornblum as Managing Director, U.S. Ventures. Kornblum will lead ANGLE's Ventures team in the U.S. out of the company's Vienna, Virginia office, focusing on building successful companies by identifying and commercializing university and corporate intellectual property.

Kornblum brings to ANGLE's U.S. Ventures team more than 10 years' strategy and finance experience in building and advising early-stage technology companies. He previously held senior business development and strategy roles at enterprise software developer Manugistics Group, Inc. Prior to joining Manugistics Group, Inc., he was a Principal at Austin Ventures, one of the largest technology venture capital firms in the U.S., where he led investments in early-stage software and services companies. Kornblum also has experience with Robertson, Stephens & Company in San Francisco and Tribune Ventures in Chicago. He was awarded a Kauffman Fellowship from the Kauffman Foundation, holds a Master's in Business Administration from the Kellogg School of Management (Northwestern University), and a Bachelor of Arts from Dartmouth College.

"The opportunity to join ANGLE and lead the U.S. Ventures team represents the perfect intersection of my two primary areas of expertise — technology and venture creation," said Robert Kornblum, Managing Director, U.S. Ventures at ANGLE. "A gap has always existed between lab research and commercialization of that research into a company that venture capitalists will fund. ANGLE Technology Ventures bridges that gap, driving venture creation and company success."

Founded in 1994, ANGLE Technology Group is an international venture creation company that partners with the owners of intellectual property to create technology-based businesses. ANGLE provides seed funding, establishes and runs each company, providing initial management, strategy, financial controls and infrastructure. ANGLE's methodology focuses on five key areas in venture development from the earliest stages (often research directly taken from a laboratory environment): technology licensing; team building; funding; strategy development; and establishing sales and marketing.

"We are delighted to have Rob join our U.S. team," said Gary Evans, CEO of ANGLE's U.S. Operations. "His blend of venture capital and operating experience, combined with a very strong network of venture capital contacts, make him the ideal candidate to drive our venture expansion in the U.S. as ANGLE seeks to replicate the success we have had in the United Kingdom."
